Media picks Florida to finish 2nd in SEC East: The reigning two-time East division champions were picked to finish behind Georgia in 2017. Florida was picked to finish fifth in Jim McElwain’s first year, and was picked to finish second last year behind Tennessee, but made it to Atlanta both of those years. Alabama was chosen by the media as the likely eventual SEC champion. The media at SEC Media Days has correctly picked the overall league champion six times in 25 attempts.
