Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports Just before the Orange & Blue Debut, Florida picked up their second commitment of the day when 2018 Lowndes, Georgia tight end Jalen Goss verbally committed to the Gators.
Goss, who is in Gainesville for Florida’s Friday festivities, is currently an offensive tackle by trade, but is being recruited by the Gators as a tight end. Florida apparently wants to utilize Goss as an in-line blocker.
Goss announced his decision on Twitter, using the #AllBite18 hashtag of the 2018 class:
And his commitment was confirmed by Jim McElwain’s customary #ChompChomp tweet.
(In inconsistent punctuation news, that’s not quite as many exclamation marks as the first commitment of the day .)
Goss is visiting Gainesville today for the second time this week. He also holds offers from Maryland, USF, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Oregon, and others. The three-star Georgia native is ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 76 overall player in the Peach State for 2018.
