The Gamecocks secured their second commitment of the day as three-star running back Lavonte Valentine (Melbourne, Fla./Melbourne Central Catholic) pledged his commitment over six other schools.
Tabbed as one of the fastest backs in the Class of 2018, Valentine chose South Carolina over Florida, Notre Dame, LSU, Kentucky, Louisville and Southern Cal. The Gators were reported to be the other top school in the running for Valentine. C O M M I T T E D TO … #Gamecocks

247Sports Composite ranks Valentine as the No. 13 all-purpose back in the nation with a rating of 0.8624. He joins three-star junior college defensive tackle Jabari Ellis (Santee, S.C./Georgia Military College) as USC July 4th pledges.
